Who is Spyder ?

Septimus Spyder have developed a range of hand crafted drink products over the last decade that emulate the drinks of bygone days.

We have a range of Small Beers ( non - alcoholic ) as well as an extensive range of Real Ales.

Our brand is available at highly respected retail outlets such as Harrods , Selfridges , Westminster , Major Castles, National Trust , to name but a few.

Why become a licensee ?

A licensee has the right to sell a unique range of traditional specialist drinks direct to the public at a wide range of events .

Using well developed sales formats , a licensee has a complete range of products that are a widely recognised brand with a niche availability profile.

How you can benefit from the spyder success ?

By becoming a licensee you are able to trade at events such as Crafts Shows, Country Shows, Medieval Events, Steam Rallys, Victorian Markets ,

Classic Car Shows, Music Events , etc. and attract customers who are familiar with the Spyder range.

We have an extensive network of events and organisers that we have worked with over the past decade and can assist you if required .

What does Spyder give you ?

Spyder has Trade Stands at major food venues including the BBC Good Food Show (NEC) , BBC Good Food Show (Earls Court) ,

Cardiff International Food Festival, Abergavenny Food Festival , Speciality Food Festivals at London , Harrogate , Scotland and many more.

We sample extensively at huge consumer events so that you are able to benefit at regional shows.

We supply you with a Marketing pack containing Point of Sale items with your first order.

How do I become a licensee ?

We like to cover every Shire in the UK therefore drop us an email to register your interest and we will reserve your membership whilst you complete

the application form at the end of this document.


What skills do I need ?

Our customers are passionate about Fine Foods . Selling skills and the ability to organise are a pre- requisite.

Q. What are the entry costs ?

A. We ask you to purchase a quantity of stock when you have fully evaluated the franchise and are ready to do so.
.....The goods are purchased at our normal wholesale price and the stock has a shelf life of around 12 months.

Q. Is there a minimum quantity of stock that I have to buy ?
A. No, but a pallet of 48 cases offsets the delivery costs.

Q. What type of events would the products sell at ?
A. The products sell well at wide range of events : Country Fairs, Fine Food Shows, Medieval Markets, Steam Rallys,
.... Music Events, Victorian Markets, etc.

Q. How long has the company been trading ?
A. The company has traded since the mid 90's generally researching and developing our distinct range of products .
.....The latter three years saw the creation of the microbrewery in Burton on Trent that allowed the commercial production of our unique range to develop.

Q. Do I need a license to sell the products ?
A. No , the products require no license ( our Real Ales are alcoholic and licences are available on a show by show basis ).

Q. Do I need Public Liability insurance ?
A. Yes, you pay an annual fee that covers you for Public Liability .

Q. Are sales seasonal ?
A. Yes, outdoor events begin at Easter time and peak midsummer , October has a dip and then the build up to christmas results in a further peak.

Q. Do I need a trailer to sell products ?
A. No, trailers are used for several reasons : Signage, Security of products , ease of setting up, shelter from inclement weather.
....We have formats that can be set up without a trailer.

Q. Do I have to be VAT registered ?
A. No, only unless your turnover is in excess of a certain amount ( see H.M. Customs & Excise VAT for details)

Q. Am I charged VAT on the products ?
A. Yes, we charge VAT to you. If you are VAT registered then VAT should be charged at the current rate ( 17.5%).

All Spyder drinks are naturally brewed from plants and are lightly carbonated.

Ginger Beer

Ginger Beer is brewed from a Ginger Plant . Spyder Ginger Beer has a mild ginger flavour mixed with real lemon juice . A very refreshing drink !

Ginger Beer Special Reserve

A slightly stronger ginger taste than our standard Ginger Beer

Sarsaparilla

Brewed from the sarsaparilla plant . A drink originated in the Americas with a similar taste to Dandelion & Burdock .

Cream Soda

Brewed from vanilla pods . A very light , subtle , creamy drink.

Root Beer

An antiseptic taste - very much an aquired taste - brewed from the roots of plants . A drink very well known in the Americas but rarely available in the UK.
